In 2022, Pantone’s licensing agreement with adobe came to and end, causing pantone color libraries to default to black and optically flattening compositions in which they were incorporated. In response to this event, the Pantone poster series asks how an entity can “own” colors, and the haptic opportunities a visually flat composition can afford.
